My dad found this bottle of Formula 1 Carnauba Gold wax at some store for $2.50.
    It's the third product down

    Is it any good?
And can I apply this as often as I need to because it is Carnauba and not synthetic?

I tried it on my moms mercedes but I don't really have anything to compare it to. I guess the paint looks good. It looks pretty good anyway. I'll go try it on my car quick.

I just searched the forums and found a thread from a few years ago. Some guy said Formula 1 is the import version of that. So is Kit any good?

can't speak for the F1, but i've seen the kit brand sold at autozone for pretty cheap. i personally would just use something else (there are other great OTC options), but then again... you can always try it out for yourself and see if you like it...

Kit wax is actually version of a SC Johnson Wax product, from my home town. The auto products division was sold to another company. My brother was the auto chemist there for many years, recently retired. I have tried many of there products. Kit puts a nice shine on, but no real depth. Not a product I would use for customers. You have to remember they are out there to make money (like any company) but are not into the high end auto waxes and polishes. But like I stated, nice shine. Durability is about the same as most products.

Yes, Formula 1 is the internation version of Kit. Here's the Northan Labs parent company: Northern Labs - Consumer Products

I bought a tub of the paste wax some time back to try it. The 'paste' wax is more of a cream - very unusual. Looks a bit like cold-cream women use to use on their faces at night.

I was quite impressed by it actually. The 'paste' version was sooooooo easy to apply and remove it was ridiculous. Much easier than NXT and spreads a loooong way. One small dab on the applicator and you can do half a panel. It also comes with an excellent foam applicator - one the best I've seen.

Considering the texture of the 'paste' I can't imagine it contains much carnauba. Its definitely a carnauba/polymer blend, like most OTC 'carnauba' waxes.

It left a very nice clear wet finish. Slickness was good and durability average. But it was so easy to use you could re-do your car in 15 minutes.

    Here's the link to Mosca's review: http://autopia.org/forum/detailing-p...ight=kit+mosca

    Some differences I experienced:

Tom said it contains no cleaners - the tub says it does. I would say they're quite mild.
Tom found it a little harder to remove than me. I did it about 75 F temps and applied whisper thin.

    For the price, your laughing!

I use the Kit Scratch Remover often as it is cheap and does the job.
