Well, I think I'll be lucky either way as his other choice is a 997 Turbo.

Beleive it or not, if your car had a scratch or a spot that needed attention. They would wetsand it before it goes out. Like david said all auto makers do this to an extent.

Re: Nissan GTR Assembly Line Detailing

For 70+ the car should be perfect. The car is pretty cool, 3.8L TT with 473 HP, 0-60 in 3.5.

Re: Nissan GTR Assembly Line Detailing

LOL for $70,000+ it should be perfect?? Hardly Do not compare a car that goes down an assembly line with workers making a pitence in pay to a high end exotic that is hand built by people that love their jobs and have real passion for the high end exotics. If it's an assembly line car weather it's $10,000 or $100,000 rest assured it's not perfect and they couldn't care less about someone willing to shell out that kind of money for it. 99% of the workers just care about their health benifits and a paycheck at the end of the week. I'll garuntee you (because I've worked in such places) they will not treat a $100,000 car any different than that $10,000 econobox going down the line. to them it's all just day in day out same ol same ol. And don't go fooling yourself they think any different about it because of the window sticker.

Re: Nissan GTR Assembly Line Detailing

But I sure think they have a little more passion about it, due to the face that it is Nissan's best sports car. Which in turn I think yields for a better built vehicle.

ferrari's go down an assembly line does that mean they dont care about the cars? Every place uses and assembly line maybe short of bugatti.

What exactly is being argued here? Are you telling us that the Nissan GTR is not a perfectly built car? I don't think anyone here is saying it is.

And how can you be so confident in the notion that someone who works on an assembly line has less passion for their job than someone who hand builds exotics?

There are literally a thousand variables that fit into job/employee satisfaction. Someone can be driven to be a great worker by anything from an actual passion for cars to a desire to have been part of the creation of something complicated. Some of the outputs of work are indeed a paycheck and benefits, but internal and external motivation and employee equity have a greater influence on employees and why they like or dislike their jobs.

I think if any of the members here do production line work and are very proud of the car they build (whether it be a Ferrari or a Civic), then you pretty much just insulted them.
