Large bed sheet as a car cover?

Has anyone used a large bedsheet (100% Cotton) to cover their car in the garage? I seem to be picking up a LOT of dust in my garage and wanted to use this as a quick fix for overnight storage. Any pros or cons?

Re: Large bed sheet as a car cover?

I wouldnt think it would hurt as long as it has a high thread count.

Re: Large bed sheet as a car cover?

Thread count would not matter as long as it is 100% cotton...Thread count just means more threads per sq. inch. Not in all cases does this mean softer. That is the common thought, but not necessarily the case.

I used to use a bed sheet as a cover before I bought one. It worked fine and didnt scratch anything.

Re: Large bed sheet as a car cover?

So is this a new sick way of being closer with your car and tucking it into bed?

Re: Large bed sheet as a car cover?

I use to work for a guy that had a cutting sense of humor. One day when several black dudes were helping out, somebody spilled some thinner on the floor and was in the process of getting it up when he walked in, poor guy thought he was in big trouble - boss just laughed and said don't sweat it. Dude looked up and said really, boss laughed again and said, Andrew, I sleep on my sheets, I don't wear them - now this was 1970's - in the south and it got a lot laughs from everybody!
