Car Cover
I am looking to get a car cover. I am looking at Noah for $187.00 and the latest and greatest outdoor cover, Weather Sheild, for $315.00. Does anyone have these and how do like it?
It probably is silly to go through all the detailing and then cover it up, but on the other hand my hard work will last longer Living on the slopes and Mauna Loa with the valcano on the other side of me, I get a fair amount of acid rain. The Weather Sheild I understand is suppose to be treated for this.

I have a WeatherShield cover and to be honest I was disappointed in it. It is NOT as waterproof as they say, with a moderate rain fall I sometimes get water under the cover.
One of good points though is that it's very light, so it's easy to carry and store.
I got my cover for a rather large car (Lincoln Town Car) and it costs me almost $400, so for that kind of $$$ I think it should do a better job at keeping water out. One of our fellow Senior Autopians, Darbh, also has this same cover and was not totally happy with it considering what it cost.
Sorry if it sound like I am dumping on the WeatherShield, I just want to be honest.

I have used Stormweave covers from California Car Covers for a number of years on a number of trucks and cars. I store some of my vehicles outside under these covers and they were subjected to some serious winter weather for 4 to 5 months here in Canada. They usually cost about $160.00 US. I polish and wax the vehicle before I store it and in the spring I just take the cover off and all that has to be done is a quick detail - the cover did its job. I obviously would highly recommend you consider one of these covers. They can be a little bulky if on a full size truck but on a mid size car - no problem so daily use, like you would use it is, on and off, is easy. Since they are custom cut for each application they fit like a glove and never blow off or shift on the car. For what is worth. MTS

I bought the factory cover for the WRX. Found it online for $82 plus shipping - this price included a cloth storage bag. I'm about as satisfied with with the cover, for the same reasons, as ShowroomLincoln. Might want to check into this option as you may find it offers considerable value

I have a custom fit flannel lined cover for my Thunderbird. Flannel is great for indoors and provides max protection against dings and won't scratch the finish if kept clean.
They have several types.

I have the Noah cover. I like it but its not waterproof. I know they say it lets moisture that gets under the cover escape but that's not going to happen in cold weather. I have used it in snow storms a few times and it's good for keeping your car ice free.

I have a Noah cover and really like it. It is the best bang for the buck out there in terms of protecting against: heat, dust, water, ice, etc... Very little water manages to find its way under this cover. Laters

I have a Noah cover as well. I really like it. I used to travel a lot and I'd put the cover on in the airport parking lot. Remember the Tornado in Salt Lake City in Aug of 99? There was so much wind and rain it was unbelievable. I was in Vegas and didn't even hear about the Tornado untill we were flying into Salt Lake the day after the storm. My car was still dry under the cover and there was no problem to be seen. Right before the rain there was a huge dust storm apparantly because the other cars in the lot that were there durring the storm were pretty messed up. You know how bad a car looks when it rains on it after a dust storm. I drove my car out of the lot looking as good as when I drove it in.

I have owned both (actually, I did not own a Noah, but the Evolution product made by the same company, which actually costs more than the Noah). I currently use the WeatherShield. My experience matches Showroom's. I like the light weight and lack of bulk, but, if you need to stop water, this cover is not the one. In So Cal, it is not such a big issue -- though I wish it lived up to its promo for the few times when it does rain. Also, I have notice that heavy dew will go through a bit, or, perhaps it is dew forming UNDER the cover. Oh, the cover is not good in the wind. Not often a problem in So Cal, but when it does blow, I have had the cover come over because of its light weight.
