Is this extreme? 95 Accord (56k death)

Well, I gave my brother's 95 Accord the FULL treatment, as best I could. The interior (specifically the floorboards) really reallly need a super pro extraction and I think I might take it for a full interior extraction, if anyone wants a go at it. It's horrible.

I'm writing this in the "extreme" format in case someone decides it's worthy...

Overall Condition
Been repainted in lots of areas. I'm not sure if there's any original paint on this car. OP, pitting, runs are evident in many places. Swirled to heck. LOTS of deeper scratches that aren't coming out, even with a rotary.

Specific problem areas
The hood and roof have etched water/acid/bird bombs that barely budge. There are some seriously oxidized areas thanks to windshield washer fluid... There's a hefty scrape on the passenger side lower door panels, hefty scratches all over, especially around the driver's door keyhole... Um... The trim is for crap, the engine is a 10-year old engine... Whatcha want? The interior has never been cleaned and I get the impression that the floorboards once had been filled with water.

Process
Engine
- Clean wheels/wheel covers
- Degrease Engine (Gunk) agitate & hose off
- Degrease Engine (Castrol APC) agitate & hose off
- Dry out distributor
- All engine hard plastic and painted metal got AIO (as did some bare metal)
- All engine soft plastic and rubber got 303
- Header heat shield got Autosol & steel wool

Body/Exterior
- Wash (z7)
- Clay (spot)
- PB SSR2.5 / SFX1 (6" & 4") and Sonus Orange / 5-6 / x2-3
- VM / Sonus Green / 5 / including trim
- EXP / hand / including trim
- #16 / hand / no trim
- #34 QD
- 303 on some trim
- autosol on exhaust tip & muffler

- DP gel wheel cleaner on wheel covers/tires/wheel wells
- AIO on covers
- Meg's Endurance gel on tires
- Armor-All on wells.

I think my 4" spot is now toast, it's not as deep in the middle, very soft.

Interior
- Folex carpets
- Meg's APC 1:10 - seating, vinyl, armrests
- Meg's Interior QD
- 303 to rehydrate dash and final wipe-down
- NXT Glass (woot! diggin' it) with Excel window cloth
- Costco MF towels on interior
- AWESOME! full strength degrease door jambs ($1/dollar-store purchase)
- Extract w/shop vac & Little Green (which stopped working before I finished - this is the first time I've used it!! Replacement warranty at Sears for $12... good thing I got that!)
- 303 on seals

On to the photos... A couple of which some might remember, since I tried to work the hood before...

BEFORES

Hood problems:

Trim? Is that black?

A decent overall look at things...

Exterior
The scratches around the keyhole were troublesome...

Notice the vertical scrape? General ickyness?

Overspray? Dullness...

The bad scrape:

After SSR2.5 only:

On to the interior...

That about covers it. The interior sucks. I really need a better extractor and to not use so much cleaning fluids on the interior... I also really need a more powerful pad/polish combo if I intend to make a dent in some of the deeper (but not TOO deep) scratches. Or a cyclo or rotary, if I would like to save time (which it took a lot of to get THIS far).

AIO works great on uncoated metal, btw. For a little polish/shine up.

So that's that. I'm exhausted. I did this over the course of 3 days, probably about 14 hours total. Now my brother wants to sell if because it looks so good He only paid $600 for it w/110k miles, and he got a great deal. He could probably sell it for 4x that now w/120k miles...

Thanks for checking it out.

Very nice job. You took a neglected Accord and made it look like new.

Great job with the car.

I'm especially impressed with the engine...WOW!

How long did the whole process take. I can imagine at least 1.5 hours alone for the engine!

That car certainly came back from barely living. It sure was on life support. This is definately a candidate for an "Extreme" detail entry!

Excellent work, thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks everyone. I see it's been moved over! Thanks to whoever did that. Now we'll see if he keeps it up. I'm serious, if someone in the maryland/dc area has a good pro extractor and wants this job, PM me - I'd like to hire you!

BTW, some of the "spots" in the after pictures are sprinkles. It kept sprinkling all day, off and on. I just couldn't win with the photos

Thanks again.
