Hello everyone,
well first of all I have to thank Gonzo, and Mike (1 clean WS6) for their help and tips in getting this big truck done. I also have to thank Paul (Pk1) for sending me a sample of
AIO which was used in this process (2 ounces, and I still have enough left for tomorrow's detail I reckon)
Now, this was a massive undertaking, not least because this vehicle is damn near 18.5 foot long, and 7.5 foot wide, but also because it was swirled everywhere. Some marks were impossible to remove, they were just too deep, and some marks required the use of an orbital, and even then marks remained. I had to draw the line at just how much I could do with the vehicle, as this whole detail took 2 full days. I started 9.00am Sat finished 5.00pm and 9.00am Sunday and finished 6.00pm.
The results in person are quite staggering, unfortunately my pics were not too good, the light was fading fast as it does here in the UK at this time of the year, however tomorrow i will get some more full sun shots in the same angle as the first pic.
I did this detail for free, well pretty much free, just a small fee for materials and effort (20.00), however as I was working the owner of the f150 had a call from one of his mates, and he was telling them how he had seen 'valets' work before, but he (in 20 years) had never seen anything like the processes I was carrying out (the usual to us autopians though

). This guy decided to come round to see for himself, and was so impressed that he asked me to do his Clio which he is selling - I am doing this tomorrow (Monday) and he is paying (60.00) for me to do it ...
I have to say this was the hardest thing I have ever done vehicle wise, everything was on such a large scale - that amount of product I used, the amount of cloths, pads, effort, it really is incredible to work on a vehicle like this. I have to say, I totally loved it, it was very very hard work, and very cold but fantastic.
The owner of the vehicle was pleased as punch, he was just ecstatic and that felt as good as if he had paid me!
By they way I found an absolute Gem of a product in 1z Glanz Wax, I am here to tell you it is absolutely the most fantastic product I have used, it is absolutely superb even though it smells horrid.
The process
Clean the interior
remove mats beat and vacuum - vacuum carpets and seat rails etc.
BMW emulsion dash and interior panels
1z Product rubbers and seals.
Z10 leather care on seats
Clean exterior
1) Power wash the body work and wheel wells and door jams and wells with BMW shampoo
2) Power wash the tyres and chrome wheels and flat back BMW shampoo
3) Power rinse
4) Clay
5) Dry with chamois
6) Clean the wheels with Autosol

Polish exterior
1) IP - white pad PC setting 4 - 5 - Not aggressive enough, so used Orange Pad and IP and had success removing swirls - was finding that I just wasn't applying enough pressure, and not working the product well enough, both things need to happen in order to remove the swirls, I learnt something today!
2)
Menzerna FP - black pad PC setting 5.5
Seal exterior
1)
Klasse AIO by PC, spritz pad on first use, add small bead of AIO around half pad and work a panel until almost gone. Wiped off with MF
2) Applied AIO to wheels chrome and glass
Wax
1) 1z Glanz Wax - foam applicator by hand WW removal one panel at a time (allow to haze 30-60 seconds
looking for a milky grey then wipe off) This is the most amazing product, and superior to any carnauba I have tried in terms of finish and application.
