Autopians,

In the past few months we have had a significant increase in discussions regarding re-branded products. This has caused some sensitivity among fans of various brands. From this situation, we have what appear to be two distinct camps: those who ardently defend and those who are out to prove something. Both camps are bad for the Autopia community.

From the beginning, the very nature of Autopia has been to explore, share knowledge and enjoy a community of like-minded people. That means we do evaluate products, we do compare products, we do ask the tough questions, and we do document facts as knowledge. That’s all well and good until it turns into the Autopia version of the Hatfield’s and McCoy’s.

This situation must and will stop. If the brand feuds continue, I will be forced ban the individuals involved or control the discussion of the products by auto-locking threads that contain key words. This is not what I want to do, but if that’s what it takes, so be it.
