Leather or NAV?

If you were in the market for a 2004 MINI Cooper S, and had the choice of these two options, which one would you choose and why?

Cordoba Beige Leather Interior AND 3-spoke steering wheel

or

Navigation System with Black Leatherette Interior

I like how the NAV is all gizmoey... the digital gas meter is sooo cool. Plus, I'd rather have the speedometer in front of me and not in the middle of the console.

Leather is one of those other things that I love in cars. This one is harder to reason, but I nevertheless would like to have it.

My vote is for both. If each item forfills a facet of your driving and ownership needs, go for both. If you are paying monthly notes the difference between one item or both would be small compared to the pleasure of purchasing exactly what you want from the start on this car and definitely cheaper than installing afterwards ( workmanship and lump sum ).

If you travel by car a lot then the nav. is a must. If you do not why waste the extra money and also give a thief more temptation to look at your car. I would choose the leather.

Living in a large metro area, like L.A., I think the Nav would be pretty handy. My vote really goes for the John Cooper Works package instead.

I'd go for the NAV. Leatherette is so close to leather, a lot of people can't tell the difference. I love leather, and although the leatherette will never be leather, it will be easier to maintain and won't wear as much as leather will.

If I had to choose only one it would have to be the one that would get the most use, i.e., leather.
