We've finally decided to give it a shot. We aren't actively trying to have kids, but we aren't actively trying to avoid it either. We'll see how it goes. We'll see if I'm grown up enough yet. I still think of myself as a kid so actually having one would be an interesting experience. Jennifer is next in line geneticly to have twins and we have both been cursed to have kids as rotten as we were. I'm scared to death. lol

We had the right number of kids for us. So if you had a like them with a better second half to your answers I'd vote.

I can't answer your poll. You are missing the option "You have kids, are glad you did, but don't want any more".

I've got my two boys and now that they are only a few short years from adulthood, I wouldn't want to go through it again-mostly because I don't want to grab my social security check out of the mailbox on the way to my kid's high school graduation.

I'll be 45 when my youngest is 18. That gives me a long time (I certainly hope!) to enjoy life without raising my own kids, and it should give me quite a while with grandkids-although I hope that is a good 10 years off still!

Never thought I could be the parents my parents were. Just not in my personality. Instead I decided to care for children already here and did my post graduate training in Pediatrics.

With the total deterioration of the world situation over the last 30 years have I preferred not to raise a child in the increasingly dim appearing future.

My wife and I still are unsure whether we're going to try or not, personally if it was up to just me, I wouldn't be having any because children annoy me and I don't think I could put up with one for about the first 8 years. Besides, I don't care for the thought of changing diapers (I'll detail any nasty car you want, but make me change a diaper, no way no how!!)

I never got married until I was in my 40's and my wife was 2 years older than me. We figure that we gave up the children thing in order to act like kids for another 25 years. It would have been a disaster for any kids or any woman if I had been a father before 40. Some of us are just too immature and selfish. I suspect there are many others that should have waited as well.

This is my first post...I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to sound off on this topic since I know absolutely nothing about detailing but maybe just a little about raising kids.

I have three children, a girl and two boys...all grown. After the endless christmas plays, pta meetings and birthday parties, not to mention cheerleading, football, roller-hockey and rotc, I can look back and say: "that was a heck of a ride". My little girl is a nurse now with three boys of her own...my oldest son is a sgt. in the Marine Corps stationed in Japan with my only grand daughter and daughter-in-law, and my youngest son (God bless him) is still at home...working full time, going to JC (majoring in...what is it this semester?) and is only around long enough to ask what's for dinner. And through all this was one singular woman who, through my transitions as a kid, a sailor, a father, and finally a man, helped make all this happen.

Twenty-five years ago we took a vow that included better/worse...richer/poorer (emphasis on poorer in our case)...sickness/health...yada....it meant alot then but it means alot more now.

I didn't mean to ramble...If you made it this far, thanks for listening to my story.

The poll doesn't have a choice of "other". I wanted kids and never caught any. I'm now old enough that it is extremely unlikely that I will ever catch any. I'm problably not the only person who would have liked to have children. Nowadays, lots of people are finding that having children isn't all that easy.

There is nothing like my 2 year old little girl, saying Daddy play with me, tickle me, I love you, ok Daddy, Daddy dont leave to work, Daddy help me, etc. Sometimes, I have to count waaayyy past ten, but it is worth it!!!
