**As a side note you should see the front of my car, the bugs I have taking out on these Friday night drives must have been hanging out by the nuclear power plant.

A community as large as this and not a single bad thing to say about marriage and yet we are in period of time where divorce is greatly the norm! Probably has more to do with the type of people here and it not being an accurate representation of society or the fact people who are positive are the only one's posting to the thread but still, WOW.

Myself, dating on 8+ years. To be married next year. We've been through a tremendous amount and I can't imagine spending my nights with anyone else. We met at a very difficult time of my life and the fact she stayed with me when I had to so little to give emotionally in return was simply amazing.... I still don't know what made her stay but whatever it was, I'm greatful she did!!!

43 years... Probably went by faster than a M3 in the hands of an 18 year old

8+ years, and it seems it was just yesterday that we started dating ... A little bit :scared that soo much time has passed and you don't even realize it.

Congratulations Paco on your big date next year !!

Yes, divorce is up (~50% of marriages) but that figure is irrevelant if you find the right mate and marry for the right reason - Love.

I am still breaking her in to the Autopia ways, but she is catching on....the other day she said that the SUV next door would look better with 18" instead of 16"!!!! THATS MY GIRL!

Married 12.5 years, wouldn't have it any other way.
In fact I think she deserves a pressure washer for Mother's Day

It's great to see so many here are happily married to their best friend. Going on 14 years, myself.

    Paco- Congrats!

OUCH- If you find the right person you WON'T EVER feel like marriage is a leash or have to worry about feeling controlled or getting a divorce. The problems come from marrying the WRONG person. And IMO, no one can take your dignity, but it's yours to give away. Sheesh, now I'm the one sounding like some advice column

I've been married for 28 years, most of them happy. Knew my wife for six years before marrage. Two great kids. Sure, there have been ups and downs, doesn't everything have them? You sometimes argue with your best friend. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Been married to my best friend for 7 years. We dated for 5 years, so no surprises after that length of time. She is my soul mate. Our marriage is truly blessed by God.
