With the current emphasis on being green, styrofoam packing peanuts are a pretty harsh way to pack generally durable goods. I realize that peanuts are excellent for energy absorption and quite inexpensive, but I have to think there are better ways to doing it.

I have an order coming next week to AG, and honestly, I'd pay an extra $1 in shipping for a more responsible packing method.

Re: 9.75/10 for autogeek

That's funny, I was just telling my wife how I HATE the packing peanuts while unpacking my Autogeek order on tuesday!

Their customer service is TOP NOTCH! I had a slight problem with a product from them, so I sent Meghan a quick PM. Dwayne, from AG called me and told me he credited me for the product and "keep it, throw it away or give it away."

AG will continue to get my business, plus they price matched some 3M stuff for me.

I hate packing peanuts as well.

However, if you put them in water, a lot of them will just melt and dissolve, so they must be biodegradable, to
a certain extent.

The styrofoam ones do not break down. The one's that do are made of cornstarch.

Here is some pricing info...

Just order more stuff from them. I have gotten pretty good about getting all the products out of the box with out spilling any of the peanuts. Order more for the practice. LOL you're welcome AG!

Personally, I like the "airbags" that companies started using to ship with. Plus they pop pretty dang well.

We have green packing material, just ask for it in the comments section when you check out.

Does it cost more? I just placed an order today. (Perone Ford) That order should need nothing but some crumpled up newspaper, but if it has to ship with peanuts, I'll take the green option as long as it doesn't cost too much more.

I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is. How about the rest of you?

No extra charge, and email me your order number so I can see if I can stop before the peanuts pop into your order.
