IMO that's pretty much the best advice, period.
You just never know what's gonna work best for *you*. My wife shoots her .45 Govt. Model with hardball better than her custom S&W revolver with .38 wadcutters
Never know about how you'll respond to recoil/muzzleblast either..same weird example: recoil simply doesn't bother my wife, other than the need to, as she put it, "control the muzzle-flip".
