Surf the gun forums and you'll see that it's pretty common with the .40 S&W version.

I'm a glock fan myself. For a pistol that is reliable, easy to take down and clean, accurate AND affordable you just can't beat a Glock. 1911's are great, but there really is a big difference between the entry level and the more expensive models. I have a Kimber that is WAY WAY more accurate than I am. It's also a LOT harder to take down than the Glock. There are a couple other weapons that I have around, but if I'm reaching for one to ride through a bad section of town in or one to sleep on the nightstand....I grab my glock without a second thought. They just plain WORK.

To sum it all up (IMO): for just range shooting go with a NICE 9mm, .22, or if you can handle the cost of ammo the 1911 in .45ACP is my FAVORITE range gun. For protection, GLOCK is the way to go.
I actually have a CZ 83 in .380apc. Very nice gun in my opinion. I have looked at the Glock's but I think if I went to a polymer gun it would be Springfield. I just seem to like the feel of those better.
