I use a Hitachi and a Makita...the Makita is out of service now..waiting for a part...If I had to do it again I would do a Metabo..I used my buddies and its nice..very ergonomic fitting...seems lighter and just seems to go with the flow as you use it ..if you know what I mean...it is a quality machine...quiet also..

Yes you can use the egde 2k 6" pads with a rotary..just need the rotary adapter...and your set to go...I find the 6" pads work so nice ...no fighting the rotary...they just flow...easy to keep flat..less hop...
