UPDATE: I'm no longer using the Charlie's on household textiles either, at least not ones that matter. Accumulatorette complained that everything was looking dingy so I went back to Tide HE and Cheer HE. Now things are looking good again

I gave Charlie's an honest try (and still have a few gallons that I'll be using up on, uhm, something) but with my washing machines (both HE and conventional) and my water (conditioned/softened and double-filtered municipal water) it just doesn't get stuff clean for me

I'd buy a reasonable quantity and make sure it works well for you before getting many gallons of it. Funny, I didn't have any complaints with the first gallon, but after using it for a more extended period of time it proved to be a loser (for *me*, not saying it doesn't/won't work for anybody else).
