Personally, I'd take it back to the garage and have a chat with the boss. I'd ask for his expert suggestions for the wax and smear removal. That way, he will see the work done by his valet and perhaps begin a course of remediation for the valet.
This process will get you the information needed to protect your new paint properly. For example, only gentle washes for the first month or so until the paint cures properly.
