| the fastest way but not the cheapest is the lint rollers.
it may take 2-3 pads for a seat but it gets it done in minutes. you can make your own with 2-3 in tape and scoring it 2/3rds of the way middle to end.
after the hair is removed.
dry vacuum like mad. You probably won't get a whole bunch because of the nature of most pet hair. It is naturally far oilier than human hair. As such the soiling will be oily and sticky.
Once dry vacuuming is done i would move to a good enzyme detergent made for protien based stains. I would use bac-out. You can find it in most natural food sections of large supermarkets. They put it with the laundry and dishsoaps. Bac-out by bi-o-kleen.
Put a 1:16 dilution in a 1/2 gallon sprayer and get the seat good and wet. don't worry it is when the moisture sits for ever that damage is done. You will be removing it shortly.
take a horse hair brush, boars hair.. just a natural stiff brush nothing plastic or nylon bristled. If you dont have a brush soak a MF or Terry in that same spray. work the fiber pretty good, try not to be too aggressive.
Let the seat sit for about 7-15 min. you do not want it to dry out. so get it damp enough the first time.
get another 1/2 gallon sprayer filled with 1:32 of the bac-out. Soak an 18x18 inch section. yes soak you are rinsing it out. Flushing the dirty cleaning solution out. so soak it pretty good. then shop vac the bajeeeeeebus out of that 18x18 inch section. Yes bajeeeeeeeebus is a technical term. No laughing!. Repeat the soak rinse and suck till the seat is done. (by soak i mean the seat section will visibly darken. When your 18x18inch section gets no darker as you spray it you have soaked it enough)
After you have bajeeeebus vacuumed it, do it again.
After your second bajeeeebus vacuum. Do a bajeeeeeeebus vacuuuum at 1/2 speed.
set up adequete air movement to speed drying. |
