Jordan@DD- I'll echo what ebpcivicsi said. Rather than use the RMG or something similar I'd just give it a light polishing via PC, that'll remove the holograms and probably pretty easily.

I kinda think that if you'd done that second step with something like FPII or the BF final polish (instead of the RMG) you might've avoided the holograms...you probably just needed a bit more cut after your corrective step with the OP (which is almost certainly what caused the holograms).

The polish you use will cut right through the SG but *sometimes* a fresh coat of SG can gum up your pad a bit. If you want to play it safe you can use rubbing alcohol to compromise the SG (just spray/wipe it on, let it dwell, use a soft MF to wipe off- it's just like cleaning anything else with a solvent, nothing to it really).

Even some of the best, most experienced rotary users around (e.g., Mike Phillips at Meguiar's) get holograms from time to time...no biggie, just do that final polishing.
