Glen = valley, Fiddich = deer, so that brand translates into 'valley of the deer', I guess where the distillery has been since the beginning of time.
Thinking back, I don't remember ever sampling a bad one but the variations are endless, all the way from a very powerful 150 overproof one, MacFarclas that made me sit down, to perhaps the most gentle one ever, Cardhu, light in colour, like the morning sun on a wheat field and a very delicate flavour.
A couple of years ago there was a controversy about Cardhu, and that it was going to end it's reign as a single malt and become a blend.
Any one of the suggested brands would be worthy to buy and make sure you're sitting down and strapped in when you / if you ever try MacFarclas. Heck, even a spotter nearby would be a good idea, just in case you fall off your chair.
