Yeah, I found wool pads on the PC to be only slightly more aggressive cut-wise than a foam cutting pad, but they left far more micromarring. I'd stick with foam on a PC too. IMO a 4" foam cutting pad will do a lot better job than a 5-6" wool pad *on that tool*.
