I teach 8th grade English, and detailing came up in today's discussion of anecdotes. I wanted to give them a good example of one, so I screamed out, "NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO A CAR-WASH!!!!!" They said, "Why?????"

I went on to describe how a car-wash is not entirely different from going to a public shower and using a washcloth with everything on it from everyone else who had been there that day, but I of course told it in story form.

It was fun to bring my hobby up in my profession, and my kids now think I'm weirder than I was before, so everyone wins!
