As I stated in another thread, the whole "looter" issue is extremely upsetting, for a couple of reasons. The fact that folks are stealing from one another is one thing. But to make the decision to focus on "security" and looting over rescuing is another issue. If people need to break into a store to simply find shoes and socks or any left over food, whatever they can, even if it's useless to them (think televisions), just let them. It's not like the store owner is going to be going back there any time soon and resell the stuff! Finally, because of this type of looting they send in military and police holding guns in large tactile vehicles...what kind of message is that supposed to send those sitting on the side of the road waiting for help?
I heard about a group of 50-100 firefighters being literally held up in a building surrounded by a gang...the gang was supposedly going to loot stores and such. Where was the military in this situation? I'm just really upset at some of the things I see and hear on the television screen....
