I was thinking that I could have a full-time job in my field of study, and own or co-own a detailing business on the side. There I would work a couple days a week for a while, maybe weekends. I would hire a couple others to work for me while I'm at my other job during the week.

Good Luck. This is a "hands on" business and if you aren't there - prepare for problems. I know because I have been doing it for 11 years and have never found someone I could trust to do the job the way I want to my expectations without me being here to keep them on their toes.
