I think that when people are at the stage of using needles for drugs, they are probably spending all their extra money for drugs so they are not likely to get the family wheels detailed. Fortunately most diseases do not live long outside the body but I would be extra careful if I saw evidence of I.V. drug use.

Wouldn't have to be a needle used for heroin, etc. - could just be an insulin hypodermic needle. But still a good way to pick up hepatitis, or at least a nasty infection! I was thinking it would be a good idea to use a flashlight (like SLD said) and maybe wear some good gloves while cleaning under a seat, etc until you know what you're dealing with...!
