It depends on how many steps the detailing consists of and how bad the compounding marks are... if it's a 3step, I usually leave a few marks with
M105 or
M95 on a wool pad, clean it up a bit with either
M105 on white LC pad or something like SIP/orange(ish) then finish with M205, 106ff or FPII... this is the process most of the time.
