When you are searching for holograms with the sun gun, its easier to move the light side to side and up and down to see fainter holograms, looking for waves in the paint... works best if you are inside a unit as the darker light gives better contrast.
Another thing is to use not just the main region of light but also use the surrounding dimmer light which is great for highlighting fainter marring in paintwork like holograms...
