Re: Obama or McCain?

Well, it wasn't asked of me, but I've got some thoughts on it because there are many reasons.

1. We live in a "global village", therefore, what happens in the US, undoubtedly will affect Canadians.

2. Most Canadians are pretty strong environmentalist (ie: Canada is a signatory to the Kyoto Treaty, which the US will not sign). So, from a Canadian perspective, we would like to see our neighbor step up the environmental protection (PrObama).

3. Different US leaders have different policies which will directly affect Canadians, whether it be about security (border crossings) or the economy (the value of the dollar can be directly linked to the US economy). Incidentally, the Loonie has dropped about 10 cents US in less than two months.

4. Why wouldn't he be interested? Do you think Canadians ONLY follow their own politics? I would be willing to bet many Canadians follow Canadian, American and maybe even British politics. Did you know that when I was in the 10th grade in Canada I took "American History" as an elective history course (had a choice to take "Modern Western Civilization" but chose US history instead). Do you think it is wise to ONLY concern yourself with your own national politics?

5. Canada has troops in Afghanistan, maybe he has friends or relatives in the Canadian armed forces, so the next US President will influence what happens there. Reason enough, no?

1. As Americans we have provided your defense and covered your butts for many years.
2. The Kyoto Treaty is flawed and so called global warming has been proven as junk science. I recycle and try to conserve to leave a better and cleaner planet for my grandson and kids.
3. Refer to #1 And ask the Democrats why the "Community Reinvestment Act" was so important. The failed policies of Jimmy Carter and reinforced by "BUBBA BLOW JOB Clinton" led the world down this economic crisis. See who was really in control of the mortgage mess! As far as the border, I do not see many Canadians coming here to squirt out "anchor babies" and steal jobs.
4. Refer to #1 once again! We have been the PROVEN leaders in this hemisphere! If it wasn't for the U.S.A. all Canadians would be speaking French and dropping their guns once.
5. The Canadian government apparently saw that it was a threat and decided on their own to supply troops. We all know that Afghanistan was a threat and history will prove that going into Iraq was a wise decision. May God speed them all safely home.

Lastly, if you are not voting or are not an American citizen then kindly stay out off our political arena. You have no say in the matter. If that upsets some of you, too bad. I have had friends and family killed and maimed in wars defending MY right to say what I have to say. I will stand with my flag, gun and crucifix to make my point. I am sick and tired of OUTSIDERS telling me what I should believe and how I should vote.
