Yes, certain brands just fit better and standard sizes aren't so standard.
The same goes for boots and shirts (also upgraded). For work boots,
Timberland Pro's, Red Wings and some Wolverines last more than
a year, which is good. And for shirts, Calvin Klein and Dockers are it.

Preferences or nit-pickyness... Probably a bit of both.
