2007 Chevy Corvette Z06. This is the one I wash/wax every two weeks. Last polished in late April last year. Swirling was minimal but the hood had some bird bombs thanks to the Chevy dealer parking it under a tree for three weeks while waiting for a new wheel to come in (one got bent).
These shots show how "bad" the car was...
2nd light from the bottom shows one of the bird bomb etchings
15 months since it was last polished, I think it shows that washing with ONR does pretty well, even on black.
The fender has been polished with
Meguiars #105 cut about 20% with Optimum polish using a yellow
Meguiars polishing pad @ 1000 rpms.
This was after following with Optimum Polish using a black
LC CCS pad @ 1200 rpms and 3M Ultrafina using a blue Ultrafina pad @ 1000-1800-1000 rpms.
Couple sun shots during the polishing process:
If I remember right, this was after all polishing steps but before waxing.
After polishing, I waxed with Clearkote's Carnauba Moose and then buffed it off with Optimum Car Wax. I'll be using OCW every two weeks until it is time to polish again.
Not much sun left, the clouds rolled in as I was finishing and it was pouring rain by the time I got home.
