Nah, it wasn't a dumb question and I dunno if the lack of response really equals a "no".
I don't really like Simple Green for most detailing jobs and I keep it away from my paint. Also, I dunno if it has enough lubricity for use as
clay lube and/or whether it will simply dissolve the clay, turning it into a soupy mess (may APCs do this to clay). I bet that's what'd happen; it'd make for a dissolved-clay-mess all over the paint.
