1. The dark gray side is just for you to grip. The cut outs are for your thumb/middle and or index and ring finger.
2. I believe I saw someone say for horizontal panels, use a back to front wipe. So, if you were doing the hood, you'd start at the windshield and pull toward you. Vertical panels, you want to use a left to right wipe. If I'm wrong, please correct me.
3. When I used it this weekend, I would do two panels, and then go back to remove.
