Yeah, sure, there is crap Chinese product out there - that's definately true - but to say that there is no such thing as a quality Chinese product is ridiculous.

As for the comment that BlackElantraGT made that Chinese people don't take pride in the quality of their work, I think that's pretty innaccurate, and bordering on racist. Just take a look at companies like Asus, Acer, and ATI, to name a few - these are companies started and run by Chinese people - and they make high quality product. In fact, most semiconductor fabrication occurs in Taiwan (ethnically Chinese) - do you have any idea how high the quality standards are for running a semiconductor fab facility are?? Also, let's not forget that Taiwan, Japan and Korea started their economic development much earlier than China - the Chinese are still in the early stages of their development, and there's no reason to believe that they won't follow a similar trajectory as their asian predecessors.

Seems to be there is a lot of China-bashing going on ("It's to keep the population down........... ", Apparently they can't make buildings worth a dam with 34,000 + dead!", etc). Those are some pretty f'd up comments, man. Reminds me of the 80's and 90's when Japan-bashing was happening a lot...
Let's get a few things straight here:

Sharp=Japanese company. Whether that product is made in China or Japan or anywhere else for that matter doesn't matter, it's a Japanese company. Toyota and Honda are known for their Japanese reliability, but many of their cars come from American factories. So who gets credit, the Japanese or Americans? It's the Japanese... it is still their company. Just like how we don't give credit to the Mexicans for VW or Nissans either.

Lenovo- Just because they purchased IBM's PC division doesn't mean Lenovo computers automatically gain reliability status due to IBM's well-known reputation, in particular their ThinkPads. Afterall, they're sticking with the ThinkPad name/brand for a reason.

Asus, Acer, GigaByte, Abit, etc, etc- These are all Taiwanese companies. While most people in Taiwan are of Chinese decent, most of them identify themselves as Taiwanese. It's no different in other countries where the Chinese moved to. I grew up with quite a few people who were of Chinese decent but of different nationality, and while they maintained their Chinese heritage, they all identified with their nationality and not where their ancestors came from.

Me being racist - I'm Asian also so if I'm racist, that means I hate my own kind? Sorry if you don't like stereotypes, but IMO stereotypes exist for a reason. It doesn't mean that it applies to everyone or everything. I think many Asians are cheap to begin with (I am one of them), but from my experience Chinese people are the worst. It's both a good and bad quality to have. Many of the Chinese people I grew up with came from entrepreneurial families. I wish I could say the same about mine.
