I like GC, not bad price and effecive at cleaning dirt/grit/grime. I don't think it will take off tar or backed on bugs really well. You may be better off geting a good APC (or bug and tar remover) and just pretreat the bad areas. Then you could wash with the soap you have.

Also if the car looks like it tooka mud bath your best bet might be to go and use a coin-op PW to get the really nasty stuff off, then take it home and wash as normal. It can go a long as to preventing wash marring, and that will always put you ahead of the game.
