For one thing, the WB pretty much lends itself to long, sweeping motions (which I'd never do with anything else). Thus if you *do* get a scratch, it won't be some little 1" long thing  And by the time you clean off the WB between passes, you've already caused the scratch.
Yeah...the WB is perfectly safe... right up until something happens, a gamble that everybody has to consider for themself. |
