It is the standard 5/8 thread so you can use the edge rotary adapter. The Velcro backing plate that it comes with is pretty cheap, so if you're planning on using Velcro backed pads I'd buy a better backing plate.
It won't help you much now, but it was right before Christmas a couple of years ago when it went on sale locally for $19.99.
