O Water as needed, usually every 7-10 days, adding 1" of water. Avoid frequent light waterings.
O Mow as needed, so you remove @ 1/3 of the blade growth (during peak growing season, I mow every 4-6 days). Mow high (@ 2.5-3") for most lawn grasses except the Bermudas which need to be mowed low (@ 1", less for TIF). Use a mulching mower to return the clippings to the lawn. Keep your blades sharp.)
O Use organic fertilizers.
White 07, I would not recommend introducing non native soils to the lawn or for tree planting. Instead, work to improve your clay soil through the use of natural ammendments such as sulphur, finished compost, and possibly lava sand. |
