If the spindle is 5/8-11 the adapter will fit perfect! then you can change to any size pad without having a backing plate. That said, it does look like 6 inch size is best reccommended for this machine. Just to note that we also make the adapter for 14mm for Europe, 16mm for Asia, and have a DA 5/16 male adatper for random orbit machines like the PC, Cyclo, and
UDM, a special Makita B06040 adapter, and soon to be released a conversion kit for the new Flex forced rotation DA as seen here.
