I can chime in on the Springfield XDs, although the one I shot was an XD9.

Foremost, I think the grip on XDs is very comfortable and the weight seems evenly balanced. I don't know if this is a taboo thing, but feature-wise it feels like a Glock to me. I'm not too fond of the grip-safety, though-- mainly because I think the safe-action trigger does a good enough job. The other little features like the firing pin indicator and loaded chamber indicator are pretty useful.
