Remember, a rotary cuts much faster than a PC, but if not used correctly can leave swirls that would need to be removed with a finer polish/pad combination or an orbital. On paint that is already in excellent condition, I would say an orbital is faster because there is no need for an additional polishing step. I also takes some time to get used to the rotary which can slow you down considerably.
